On August 15, 1947, our country India became independent from the tyrannical rule of the British. After independence, India had no laws to govern the country. At such a time, the Constitution Committee was formed under the leadership of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This committee worked tirelessly for 2 years 11 months 18 days and gave India a strong constitution.
This constitution came into force in our country on 26 January 1950. Our country India became a sovereign, democratic, republican country. The constitution of our country is the largest written constitution in the world. The constitution has given us rights and powers.

Significance of this day 'Republic Day!' hidden in words. After the independence of India, it is the most memorable day in the history of Bharat Mata, Indians and Indian Constitution!
In fact, on 15 August 1947, the tricolor flag of India was hoisted with pride and joy. Its first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, gave a speech from the Red Fort and Dr. Babasaheb Abandekar drafted the state constitution of India in just two and a half years. And this country was declared a democratic republic. Friends, our Indian culture is the best and guiding culture in the whole world. Therefore, after examining the democracy declared on January 26, it is clear that democracy has deep roots in India, not only this, but in Rigveda 'democracy' has been called 'government based on popular opinion'. Although the prevailing governance system in this earlier period was monarchical. Yet these kings were elected by the people. All these kings were pious and ruled the kingdom according to Dharma. The British made their debut here in the 18th century. He ruled India for about one and a half hundred years, as a result of which our present parliamentary system of governance came into existence.

After the British rule, with the untiring efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, all the institutions became Khalsa and Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Ambedkar, Pandit Nehru, Maulana Azad, Dr. Sarojini Naidu and many leaders of the freedom movement were members of the Constituent Assembly. The assembly began working for three years to draft a constitution, and on 26 November 1949, the Constitution of India was ratified. Our country has got a new law. This law is a law made by the people, for the people, by the people! This system of government is a federal system.

Republic Day is celebrated to commemorate the historic moment when our country became an independent republic. As we all know that India got independence on 15 August 1947 and the country did not have its own constitution, instead India was governed by the laws imposed by the British. However, after many deliberations and revisions, Dr. A committee headed by Babasaheb Ambedkar drafted the Constitution of India, which was adopted on 26 November 1949 and officially came into force on 26 January 1950.
